5 Paranormal Phenomena That May Happen to You

Have you noticed that things seem a little weird lately?

All over the world, reports of high strangeness and odd phenomena are on the rise. And while some of these reports can be written off as hoaxes or fabrications, the increase in the number of them makes one wonder if something extraordinary is occurring in the world.

In a society that favors science and empirical data, phenomena such as these fall so far outside our basis of understanding that we have no way to measure and evaluate them. It seems the reason for the increase in these occurrences is as elusive as the phenomena themselves.

While it’s tempting to ignore the strangeness rather than to try to explain it, for those who are experiencing it, ignoring is not an option. It’s natural, or even crucial perhaps, for people to search for meaning and explanation of these phenomena if only to maintain their own mental stability.

But how do we find out what causes these phenomena? Are they real? Do they serve a purpose?

Some possible theories for these occurrences are that they are due to a thinning of the veil of reality, an increase in the earth’s frequency, or to an expansion of human awareness. Or, maybe they are caused by government experiments with time and space or the meshing of parallel lifelines.

Who knows for sure? It may be that these phenomena have always occurred, but due to this age of social media, it is now easier to share our stories with a much larger audience than word-of-mouth would permit.

Whatever the cause, if you pay attention to the increasing number of people who are reporting these experiences, it becomes harder to dismiss them. Besides, isn’t it more fascinating to ponder and explore them?

Maybe there is more to life than meets the eye. What do you think? Have any of these happened to you?

5 Surreal Phenomena on the Rise

Time Quirks

We know that time is a man-made concept, but we are so governed by the clock and calendar that it’s hard to grasp the fact that time does not actually exist. That is, until recently. It seems more and more people are having experiences that seem to place them outside the boundaries of time.

Time quirks occur when time does not seem to pass normally. Some examples of this are the sensation that time is moving faster or slower than the clock displays, it seems to stand still, or it becomes so warped that it feels as though one is somehow living outside of it altogether. Some have even reported occurrences when they seem to have time-traveled – temporarily existing in a past or future reality. The explanation for these occurrences defies normal logic and reason.

Number Prompts

Seeing the same number patterns everywhere, such as on the clock, a passing vehicle license plate, or a store receipt, is an odd phenomenon on the rise. People report that they see the same pattern of numbers, such as 111, 444, or 999, constantly, to the point of becoming spooky. The occurrence of the pattern is so prevalent to the experiencer that the repetition falls far outside chance. Explanations for this are as far-reaching as the phenomenon itself.

Synchronicity

The concept of synchronicity was first introduced by analytical psychologist Carl Jung. Synchronicities are simultaneous experiences where circumstances line up in a way that falls beyond random chaos or statistical probability, with no clear explanation at hand.

Some examples of synchronicity are; people from your past showing up at the same place as you without prior knowledge that you would be there, hearing repeated words or phrases that seem to coincide with choices you are considering, and events in life that seem to occur with perfect timing or hearing random conversations that coincide with what you were just thinking.

Synchronicity is becoming such a common phenomenon that it begs the question; is there such a thing as random reality, or is there a divine order to what otherwise seems to be a reality governed by chaos?

Lucid Dreaming and Out-of-Body Experiences

Lucid dreaming describes the experience of becoming awake in a dream. In a lucid dream, the dreamer becomes aware that she is dreaming, and is sometimes able to control where she goes or what she experiences in the dream state.

To make it even more puzzling, the lucid dream-state can sometimes morph into a full-blown out-of-body experience. In this case, one is able to travel about normal reality in a sort-of astral body. This enables the dreamer to freely explore a permeable version of reality.  In this state, they are invisible to others and unhindered by the physical laws of reality, such as solid mass, time, and space.

Although a reported phenomenon throughout the ages, lucid dreaming and out-of-body experiences were once only reserved for the likes of mystical explorers such as shamans, yogis, indigenous priests and priestesses, psychics, and a few others. Now we know that they can happen to anyone.

The Mandela Effect

The Mandela effect describes the phenomenon of large groups of people misremembering details or experiences of the past in the exact same way, as a sort of collective false memory. It was named after many people who reported having a different memory of Nelson Mandela passing away back in the 1980s, although he actually died on December 5, 2013.

Those who have experienced this phenomenon have reported changes to just about anything collectively known in modern life; from corporate logos, the locations of buildings, death of celebrities, titles of movies, names of places, the anatomy of the human body, and even to the world map and the shapes and sizes of the continents. The memories are so real to the experiencer that the change in information is recognizable and disarming, to say the least.

The Truth is Out There?

The truth, as they say, lies somewhere in the middle. While some reports of these phenomena may be exaggerated or imagined, the fact that an increasing number of people are reporting them calls for further examination. Besides, dismissing them because we have no current explanation for them is a missed opportunity to gain knowledge and insight into the elusive mysteries of human life.

Regardless of what others think, if you’re one of the few who have experienced any of these, sooner or later you’re going to want to search for answers. Your mind is going to try and figure-it-out and, if you can’t find an explanation, you are going to have to make a choice.

Do you file it under imagination? Do you worry about your own mental health? Or, do you accept it as an unknown and live with the wonder of it, knowing that there are mysteries to life that are not meant to be understood?

Whatever causes these experiences and whatever the explanation for them, we may never know.
